Rising Freshmen

The Guidance Department would like to welcome you to Wando High School and the Freshmen Academy.    Information is included here to help you prepare for the 2010-2011 school year.   Please review the information and contact us at 881-8275, if you have any questions.

  • Summer assignments are already available.   Use the following link to access this information: http://www.wandohigh.com/reading.htm.
  • Workshops for the Honors English I and Honors Geometry classes will be offered this summer on June 29th and 30 or July 13th and 14th.  These workshops provide invaluable assistance with English and math skills.
  • Freshman Orientation Day is August 17, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.  You will be given helpful information and an opportunity to follow your  abbreviated schedule.

SCVS EXAM SCHEDULE AND PROCTOR INFORMATION

All students taking a SCVS summer course(s) and who need a proctor should provide the proctor information listed below to their SCVS instructor(s).

The EXAM SCHEDULE  is also listed below. If you need an alternate time, please contact Ms. Stille directly via email. Students who are taking more than one exam AND who wish to take them on different days should contact Ms. Stille as well via email.

SCVS Currently Enrolled Summer Students

Student Reminder:  You will need to provide a proctor’s name to SCVS when you are ready to take your final exam.  Final exams must be administered by a state certified teacher.  If you need a proctor, please contact the Wando Guidance Office at (843) 881-8275.

 

TTC Dual Credit

*In order to enroll in TTC classes, students must complete the Dual Credit application and meet the testing requirements identified in the Wando Program of Studies.

*Courses taken through dual enrollment will be included in the student's GPA/Rank and are weighted as advanced placement credits.

*A three-hour credit college course transfers as 1 high school unit of credit.

*Tuition, books, and any other college course fees shall be at the expense of the student or his/her parents or legal guardians.  Students will be billed by Trident Technical College for the courses that they register to take.  Payment must be made to the Business Office at Trident Technical College.

*The approximate cost of a three-hour course will be $425.

*Students who take a minimum of two courses (six hours) per semester will qualify for financial assistance through the educational lottery fund.
