Four Schools of Study Have Been Established! We believe using a career-related school approach to teaching and learning will help students to see the relevance of their course work and its connection to their future. Although this initiative is being phased in, our long-term plans include assigning teachers to a "School of Study" based on their individual interests and their academic professional training. To help build a greater sense of community among faculty and students, each "School" will be assigned its own area within the larger building. We anticipate that when fully implemented each "School of Study" will serve 350-700 students, compared to the 2200 students currently in grades 10-12. Our Honors and Advanced Placement course will be interspersed among the Schools. Our Honors/AP students already have an informal smaller learning community established but they will also benefit from focused goal-setting and college and career planning. Wando's Schools of Study will allow greater personalization and provide opportunities for stronger relationships among students and between students and staff. What Career Is Right For You?
